WRITING PAGE TWO

WHAT WRITING IS LIKE FOR ME NOW:

I am writing a lot more now. A lot of this has to do with updating my web pages. I keep thinking of better page designs to try out, and I have to have articles wherever possible. To write those articles and web pages, I now try to get into "the zone"... and not worry so much about whether something is perfect or not. I used to worry about that too much.

Now I just get the writing done, and come back and fix it later. To get things done finally is so exciting. I hope these links can help get YOU excited about writing, too.

ABOUT THE WRITING LINKS:

To the right, there are some websites that I will check out this week to make sure they still are pointing in the right direction.

I think that the best one here is the Auto-Critique site. It's all done automatically, but you would hardly know it.

ABOUT THE SECRETS:

I really like the Secrets Podcast. The author goes through many important lessons for writers in podcast form. You can download these to your MP3 player or just to your computer desktop. I like these podcasts because he really tells you in detail how he writes - and tries to help the beginning writer. It's a lot like a free class.

MORE ABOUT STEPHEN KING:

I have to put this on here... I think Stephen King is a GREAT writer. I just finished listening to the tapebook of a story I never read. It was Dreamcatcher. It had great elements - - aliens, friendship, a mystery - - bravery, and what true friendship means. Of course, Mr. King wove ESP into there as well. It was so enjoyable I hated to hear it end.

THE STEPHEN KING WEBSITE:

Below is Stephen King's official website link. I have been there several times. You can make comments there, plus it has a neat menu area. Try running your cursor or mouse over the titles. I like that effect!

THE FUNNY THING ABOUT THE COMMENTS AREA:

The Stephen King website has a comment area - - and somebody else comments on the comments - - and answers questions there. I could swear that the person sounded almost JUST like Stephen King himself sometimes... but that person must just know him pretty well - or bother him a lot for all those personal answers.

MY BLOGS:

Below are my online blogs. One is a personal blog, and the other is the blog I write about non-traditional students. I really felt different this time when I was back in school, so I started a non-traditional student club in order to make friends. Now that I'm out of school, I still want to help, so I have a website about non-traditional students that I take care of. I am putting non-traditional groups on right now so people can find out what different colleges and universities are offering for non-trads.

I try to write for each blog at least once every two weeks. Sometimes I go on a roll and write more than once a week. Eventually, I want to move the blogs to my website page so everything can be together, and people can write there and comment on the blogs easier.

If you go there, and try to make a comment, you don't have to register on the site anymore. I fixed it so you can just hit the"anonymous" button instead.

TAKING PHOTOS FOR THE BLOG:

Part of the fun of having a blog for me is taking photos and putting them on there. I hope to get some more photos and captions on the blogs soon. You can see some of my photos to the right. Just click on the pictures.
